Man, these games are sometimes so close together it's hard to muster up enough energy to sit down and babble like I do.  Good thing for the passion, raw talent, quick wit, and modesty that so easily envelopes me or I may not have much to say.

It was a beautiful spring evening, mid week, and we were set to play the Stingrays.  The PFHC B Team spent the day preparing for the game.  Stretching out, pregame nap, pregame shave, pregame shower, pregame poop,(all except O'Connor who unloaded in the toilet right before the game), ate a healthy nutritional meal, donned our suit and ties, combed our hair, and headed to the rink.  Snuck in the back door to the arena to avoid the hard core fans, signed a few autographs, got a rub down from the trainer, donned our gear and hit the ice.  All except Tommy.  He was busy at an insurance seminar learning how to scam money out of innocent firemen such as us.  We hear he's going to play for the All State Insurance Hockey Club.  They should do pretty good assuming they can figure out what the insurance premium will be to play a game all the while a ccounting for annuities, deductibles, beneficiaries, and  dividends.  Tommy, I never knew you could be so boring but when you get licensed we need to talk about getting me a sweet deal on my car insurance.  Can you imagine the International Association of Insurers Hockey Tournament.  I hear that's pretty wild.
Tommy, if you're out there the team has a message for you. Please come home to us soon.  We don't care what you've done, where you've been, or how corrupt you've become.  We just want our old, funloving, slightly irresponsible Tommy back.  You've been gone for three games now and we miss you dearly.  Please come back.

Moving on, The B Team pumped out another win on Wednesday and this time it was a shutout victory.  We won 4-0 making our record 5-0 with 31 goals for and 4 goals against.  What a record.
Here are the stats:

Goals:
TJ from Demuth
Walker from Demuth and Ryan
Volly from Ryan
Demuth from The Chad

Penalties:
Volly - holding
KFerg - hooking
TJ - Too many Men
KFerg - hooking
The Chad - unsportsmanlike
Volly - holding
Volly - holding
TJ - interference

Yea, Volly, I see the little heart to heart talk you had with the Czech ref really helped.  They had two 5 on 3 advantages in the game.  We can't continue to do this.  We lead the league in penalties by far.  I know we are a physical team but some of those penalties gotta go.  I'm all for taking a penalty can be a pivotal, strategic part of the game but we get too many.  We may have to start charging admission for the sin bin and every time you go in there it will cost you something like beers or for Volly orange crush.

Honourable Mention:
Jim - great goaltending and shutout
Volly - great D, way to stop them
Ryan - solid Offense
Demuth - wicked shot to get the 4th goal

Player of the Game:
The POG is the teammate who showed an exceptional amount of skills on the ice, got the game winner from the blue line, and had quite a few more nice, low shots from the blue line all the while playing solid D.  The game puck goes to TJ.  Great game big guy.

Positives:
goaltending
defense
backchecking
penalty kills
passing and puck possession in the offensive zone
4 goals scored by 4 different players
good aggressive forechecking

Negatives:
need to work on:
-break out passes and plays.  Our Defense play with the puck too much in our zone and don't pass the puck out fast enough and we missed out on some good breakout plays because of it.
-passing and playing the puck on the outside.  The wingers need to spend more time along the boards looking for passes and making stuff happen on the outside more.
-less penalties.  As I already stressed, good penalties are OK but stuff like too many men, unsportsmanlike, and numerous holding calls we have to cut back on.

So there you have it.  Another successful game, followed by a moderately weak rant.  We played well, scored goals, got a shutout, and wondered why Tommy went over to the suits.  Now it's time to go watch the Canucks and Ducks in OT.
