The first game of the season for the two PFHC teams and mark April 1st, 2007 down in history as the first time we have been able to roster two teams for league play.   You guys should feel honoured to be a part of a great legacy.

Being April Fools Day makes me think back to how many times I had been the fool today.  Let's see, there's when Jack called me and told me the C team drank beer the whole game on the bench; KFerg called me and told me he forgot the water bottles (no, wait, that was real); when I heard that Mikey went a game without a penalty;  Weaver sold his tanning bed; when Walker claimed he had a date the other night with a woman, yea right; that Cunningham put tape on his stick; and the best trick of all today has got to be the refs at our game blowing the whistle like it's never been blown before.  I was just waiting for our favourite czech ref to say "April Fools" or "I got you good" but nothing of the sort.  I was even listening for it in his native czech tongue and I'm pretty sure I didn't hear it that way either.  What I did hear a lot was "Volly, 3 minutes for hooking, holding, interference, KFerg, go to the box for roughing, Tommy, Ryan, The Chad, Me, and Dumuth, take a break and think about what you have done."  and on and on it goes......Someone forgot to tell the refs it's April Fools Day today.

As you can see, I have been the brunt of a lot of trickery today but I guess I should have expected it on this sacred day of diception.

That pretty much covers the B teams penalties.  We had 36 min in the box and played about half the game short handed.  But in the end we were victorious with a 7-1 win over the Blue Ribbons.  Goal and assists were from:
Volly from TJ and Tommy
The Chad from Walker
Tom O unassisted (no he wasn't playing goalie.  He is actually good as a forward as well, the Bum)
TJ from TGO
Ryan from Tom O
Tom O from Walker
TJ unassisted

Great game boys.  PBR didn't stand a chance.  We dominated the whole game on both ends and played very well.
Jim, the new goalie, played well and looked good between the pipes.  It's a shame Tom O didn't hire you at Canby, Jim.  I'm sure he's already regretting that decision.  What were you thinking Chief??
It was also great to see The Chad bust loose on a little rage out there.  Walker and I saw it all unfold from the bench.  One of the PBR dudes was jawing at him and the next chance Chad got was filled with total domination and complete rage as he skated circles around those pylons.  As Walker put it, "it's like we pulled the wind up string on Chad's back and away he goes".

Honourable Mention:
-Jim the goalie for a great presence
-TJ for great D and two goals
-Volly for yapping so much without getting a penalty for that. amazing.
-The Chad for being "The Chad".
-Demuth for his smooth play making

Player of the Game:
The P.O.G. is no stranger to this award but usually gets it for stopping shots.  Now he's getting it for putting goals in the net.  We were all very surprised at Tom O's ability as a forward.  I guess when you have as low expectations as we all did anything's bound to be impressive.  As much as I hate to admit it, Tom O did an outstanding job and gets the Player of the Game.  No Fooling about that.

So we played the puck well, tight D, backchecked, passed well with few turnovers, controlled the puck well in the Offensive zone, and came out victors.
Some things to work on are:
break out passes
positioning in the Offensive end
dump and chase

But all in all I am proud of our teams for our hard playing out there on the ice.  C team, keep your heads high and listen to Mikey.  He get you guys playing like a team in no time.  Stay positive and continue to skate hard.  You are making the PFHC proud.
